[It makes her visibly happy to hear that, and she shifts again, this time to hold Nina's hand tenderly.]
Well, it's not like I can explain everything... And it doesn't really matter either since it won't last long, right?
[Diva steps in front of her to take her other hand as well, starting to lead her as she tells the story. She's walking on her toes, and it very much gives the impression of a ballet with the way she walks, but it's just secondary, since all of her attention is on "Johan"]
We met when you told me a story. Well, you were telling everyone a story to begin with, but it was a story that you told just to me that made me interested in you. It was a story about prisoners in a cave, not knowing anything about the world other than shadows on the wall, until one of them escaped. It was a really beautiful story. But more than that, I met you in person the night that I would end up being killed.
[She pauses for a moment to step lightly, since she is walking backwards and has to be careful, but continues,] And it was a conversation we had then that made me like you, because you were like me. You understood things in a way that no one else really had been able to before. [And at that, she looks down at their hands, laughing a little] You told me that all the times I'd died mattered, and no one had ever said that to me before. It's funny, because I'm pretty sure I'd decided then that you were more than just a human, but I didn't like that. Humans don't understand, so I don't like them. But you could.
[She laughs more, looking back to her] I hated that about you for a while too! Because it was too hard to think about what that meant, so I hated that kindness. I really wanted to see if it was a lie, so I tried to kill you a few times, but it wasn't. You were never afraid, no matter what. So I guess after that, I didn't have any choice but to love you, right?
So I promised to be yours. I'm Johan's, just like I was Amshel's, so whatever you need, I'll give you. [She gives his hands a little squeeze, and her expression and tone would make it seem like the greatest thing she could give despite the troubling nature of her words] But I also warned you that I would probably consume you. Just like you warned me that you would take everything away. You'll become mine. I'll possess you. But I'll be yours, and you'll possess me. Because that's how it works for us, right?
[a beat, then softly,] That's what it's like for monsters to love each other, right?
