asgard au; vampire murder posse edition
[Well, that month or so of being away from Asgard was entirely unpleasant as far as Diva was concerned. Which wasn't entirely accurate, since she couldn't really remember it, but still. She had vowed to herself that she was always smart enough to not take off her bracelet for even a second, and yet, the past month was a grey fog. She had just come out of the fog by a bracelet being slipped on her wrist, and the vague memory of seeing her silver bracelet bounce off the pavement and roll into the sewer drain out of reach as she had taken it off for just a moment.
Her life is so hard, clearly.
She sighs a little as she opens the door of her home, not really yet aware of just how long she had been absent yet—She had guessed a week or so. It was going to be annoying to explain what had happened, so she had already resigned herself to feigning ignorance.]
Hey, I'm home.
[She didn't usually announce herself when she returned home, but it seemed appropriate for now.]

Hey, I'm home.

because we're cool and also psls = i do what i want
An apology, huh?
[She makes a thoughtful noise as she considers it, since she'd genuinely never thought of it in that way before. Or, well, she had, but had never used that word. Asgard did feel like something to give her more of a taste of what she wanted, and while it did also serve to highlight the cruelty and injustices she had served by comparison, it was still something precious. Diva laughs a little again at the thought, her smile looking bitter, but it at least fades quickly as she looks back to Charles.
He was good after all. The strange and different little Chevalier was at least one that was honest and genuine. Diva returns to him, but it's an entirely different gesture in meaning, because she sits at his feet and once again rests her head in his lap.]
That would be good, I think. I guess if it's an apology, then I could accept it. [She closes her eyes, a last marker of that tense moment being past.] And I'll accept you too. You can be more than a Chevalier, because I don't think my Chevalier would have really understood that.
psls: sticking it to the man
he thinks he might for a second when she walks back over and sits before him, and he smooths her hair down gently while she talks and fusses out imaginary tangles in it. after another second, trying to disturb her as little as possible, he quietly eases himself to the floor as well and takes up both of her hands.]
This is one of the only things I'll ever thank fate for, I think. I know that I can't be the Chevalier you're used to, but I wouldn't mind-- [he stops himself and shakes his head] --I'd truly appreciate it if you would consider me your companion. [as he had started out. to stand on ground that was not-quite-but-almost equal, uneven but comfortably so; that is something he misses terribly.]
no subject
Well, if you put it that way, how could I say no?
[Diva leans forward to give him a small kiss on the cheek, but doesn't draw back when she speaks] Carl will be the only one to be my companion.
no subject
Thank you. [he leans closer, cheek to cheek for just a moment.] I'll do my best to bring you happiness for the rest of your time in this city, and not just as your Chevalier. [as a protector of a different sort; a true companion.]
no subject
[But she laughs as she draws back a bit, since she's kidding... sort of... okay probably not at all, but she thinks she is.]
Hey, so we should do something to celebrate! Well, to celebrate this, and for me coming home too.
no subject
his posture straightens once he's not slumped over her like a gross sentimental blob anymore, looking thoughtful.]
I agree. Ah, we could have two celebrations, if you'd like. One for the rest of your friends here, and one for the two of us. [EVEN HIS JEALOUSY CAN'T RUIN HIS GOOD MOOD NOW]
no subject
[The look in her eyes clearly says that she's imagining something elaborate and extravagant, but it softens as she returns to thought of the two of them having a celebration.]
Hey, for us though, why not a hunt? It's been a while since I've hunted for a meal. I think when they get really scared, they taste better, don't you?
no subject
[that brings him to a pause, and he instantly looks a little less enthusiastic. it isn't that he dislikes the idea of the hunt, so much as the idea of Diva possibly being pinned for it.]
Is that what you would like to do? I certainly wouldn't mind, but there are a few precautions we would need to take. [ruining the party before it even starts aw yeah]

We would have to stay near the areas that are still somewhat grey, to start. It would also need to be in the evening hours when foot traffic is at its lowest point.
no subject
[She beams] Then it'll be fun! I know we'll have to stay in a grey place, but do you think we could try and get someone that has more of a face? They taste better, and I bet they'd be more fun to chase anyways.
no subject
Yes, that's perfectly fine. It shouldn't be difficult to locate one, the Faceless with distinct features are growing in number daily.
no subject
[She laughs, draping over him...] What kind do you prefer again?
no subject
I'm looking forward to it. I've spent enough time sitting around lately, getting a good stretch in will be a nice break.
Ah, as for that, I don't have much of a preference. [is what he says, but she might have noticed that he tends to target the 20/30+ crowd since he likes the ego boost of taking down someone twice his size...] We can go for whichever one strikes your fancy first.
no subject
Alright! Then we'll find someone good. It'll be a welcome home feast...!
no subject
but his mood seems considerably brightened by this point, and he nods in agreement.] It will certainly be a memorable one, I can promise you that.
no subject
[Which is to say, we cool with a timeskip to vampire murder posse funtimes?]
no subject
he's spent the rest of the week scoping out places where Faceless he thinks Diva might like tend to hang around and has taken her to it as promised on the day of their own special rendition of a welcome home party. it's a row of quaint-looking but relatively unused shops in an area of Sigyn that's more grey than most. safety first etc...]
The foot traffic of Travelers here is very light, so we oughtn't run into any problems.
no subject
Oh, this is a good spot... How did you find this place?
no subject
keeping their fingers interlocked and matching his pace to hers, he quietly scans the area.]
I was looking around a little in my free time and happened to come across it. I've seen a few Faceless leave the area with bags from the stores here, actually, but it's rare to see someone like us with one. [a thoughtful hum, and he appraises a boutique as they walk past. maybe he could buy her a new dress while they're out, too... it'd be faster than washing out any potential blood stains if nothing else.]
claws back to rp
Well, I'm glad, in that case! I bet it would be a pretty cute area if there were more color... [She looks around curiously in an exaggerated way, but giggles] Of course, it wouldn't be as fun for us, if that was the case.
throws a welcome back party with too many balloons!!
At the rate things are going it will most likely have its color before you know it. A shame for us, but it would make using the area for its intended purpose much more pleasant. [which he doesn't sound too thrilled about... hunting grounds > shopping mall, obviously.]
Well then, would you like to start things off?
no subject
My, it would be my pleasure.
[And just like that, all of her cheerful conversation stops as she focuses on every passerby more intently, though it is subtle. It would be as easy as picking a heartbeat out of a crowd that appealed to her normally, but she had to admit, this had its fun too. It was like a little guessing game of which person would provide the best tasting meal. There's a few minutes of silence as she scopes out their meal, but it ends as she leans closer to whisper darkly and nod her head to a (of course) young and attractive young man.]
That one.
no subject
That one, truly? Doesn't he look a little sickly? [it's said in a teasing tone, and he laces his fingers behind his back as he takes a lazy step forward.]
no subject
No way! It's fine.
[Her tone becomes haughty, but it's also in a teasing way] Hmph, to pay for that, why don't you get him for me?
