[ Gloominess is Gilbert's constant state of being, so really, seeing it increase isn't too much of a surprise. Break does give Gilbert a more serious look at first, but that's brief and fleeting. He instead busies himself with setting things out properly, though that may be a bit odd in itself. Gilbert would probably be able to count the times that Break has actually acted like a servant of the Rainsworths on one hand, so that too is another small sign of his odd brand of care. ]
